On October 31, 2024, the 300-seat amphitheater of ENSET hosted the installation ceremony for newly appointed officials at the University of Douala, following Ministerial Order No. 2024/148 of October 22, 2024. The event was led by the Secretary-General of the institution, Professor Henri Désiré MODI KOKO, who represented the University’s Rector. The ceremony was marked by solemn moments and crucial reminders of the values that underpin university administration.
In his speech, Professor MODI KOKO emphasized the essential values for the smooth functioning of the administration. He stressed detachment, explaining that administrative positions are temporary and should not be confused with personal ranks. He also highlighted the importance of selflessness, a key principle in public service, and collaboration, which is vital for ensuring transparency and efficiency through the sharing of information.
The Secretary-General also reminded the newly appointed officials of the need for discipline, underscoring the importance of adhering to ethical standards and maintaining professional confidentiality. Respect for colleagues, users, and the hierarchy was equally emphasized, as these elements foster a climate of harmony and obedience, essential for the proper execution of administrative duties.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo, symbolizing a fresh start for the newly installed officials. Now formally in office, they are expected to embody the values of humility and dedication, ensuring cohesion within the University of Douala.
This solemn event marks a pivotal moment for the institution, as its administration renews itself to better serve its users, guided by the principles of collaboration, respect, and mutual understanding.
