The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), meeting on September 17 in Nairobi, confirmed the dates for the next edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025. This tournament, exclusively for players competing in African domestic leagues, will take place from February 1 to 28, 2025, co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The qualifying phases are scheduled between October and December 2024, as announced by Seidou Mbombo Njoya, president of the CHAN organizing committee, during a press conference. CHAN, initiated under the leadership of former CAF president Issa Hayatou, aims to showcase the quality of domestic leagues and local talents across African nations.
The previous CHAN edition in 2023 saw Senegal clinch the title in Algeria, defeating the host nation in the final.
